Jamie Bowie, Treasurer
Growing up in Simi Valley, California, Jamie was surrounded by the rich geologic history on display across Southern California, sparking an early love of geology that led her to a BS in Geology from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2010).
Jamie has over 10 years of experience as a geoscientist across environmental consulting and the energy industry, including four years with the Geoscience Technology group at Chesapeake Energy in Oklahoma City. She recently completed her MS in Geology at the University of Oklahoma, where she studied Pennsylvanian "Granite Wash" subsurface cores from the Anadarko Basin to reconstruct paleogeography and sediment source-to-sink history.
She's an active volunteer across the geoscience community, having supported organizations such as AEG, GSA, AAPG-SEG, and Oklahoma City Geological Society (OCGS), and is passionate about geoscience education. Jamie enjoys gardening/landscaping, planted freshwater aquariums, hiking, camping, photography, cooking and baking, brewing beer, and experiencing new food, culture, and landscapes.
